Trustees approve annexation, school water easement, plats and multiple permits; appoint planning commissioner
Summary
At the May 5 meeting the Village of Malcolm trustees approved an annexation plat, a 25-foot water easement at Malcolm Public School, the DC Fire Addition plat, several building and well permits, a $9,406 transfer to the general account and appointed Nic Colgrove to the Planning Commission. Two payroll reimbursements passed with trustees abstaining for conflicts.
The Village of Malcolm Board of Trustees met May 5 and approved a series of routine and land-use items, including an annexation plat, a water-only easement for Malcolm Public School and several building permits.
Trustee Jerad Little moved to approve the consent agenda (including the March 10 minutes and the Treasurer's Report showing checks of $45,836.48 and deposits of $86,131.28); Jason Lemkau seconded and the motion carried with Trustee Nick Benes absent.
Trustees approved payroll and reimbursement claims for staff members Jaydin Little and April Faubion. The motion approving payroll for Jaydin Little carried after Jack Tarr moved and Jason Lemkau seconded; Jerad Little recorded an abstention due to conflict. The payroll motion for April Faubion carried after Jerad Little moved and Jack Tarr seconded; Mike Faubion recorded an abstention due to conflict.
Land-use actions included approval of the DC Fire Addition plat to resolve a building encroachment and approval of an annexation plat (Exhibit A) for land from NW 105th Street to the ballfield. Trustees also approved a 25-foot water-only easement along the west side of Malcolm Public School, from Education Drive north to West Bluff Road; the Board agreed not to pursue a generic utility easement now on the Village Engineer’s recommendation and said a sewer easement could be added later if necessary.
Multiple permits were approved: a shed at 1688 W Bluff Rd, a well at NW 118th Place, a new single-family home at NW 118th Place and a deck at 380 Elk Creek. The transfer of $9,406 from the Money Market account to the General Fund to cover prior equipment purchases was approved. The Board accepted Nic Colgrove's application and appointed him to the Planning Commission. Trustees approved the plumbing contract as drafted by Village Counsel and authorized execution by the next appointed plumbing inspector pending confirmation from Dave Howard by May 20.
The meeting included routine reports from the Village Attorney, Village Maintenance and the Village Clerk and concluded with a motion to adjourn at 9:15 p.m.
