Elk Township planning board elects leadership, adopts meeting schedule and appoints professionals for 2026

The Elk Township Combined Planning & Zoning Board held its 2026 reorganization meeting on Jan. 21 and completed leadership and professional appointments for the year.
Board members elected Mr. Afflerbach as Chairperson and Jay Hughes as Vice Chairperson by unanimous roll-call votes (each vote recorded For: 10; Against: 0; Abstain: 0). Solicitor Brandon DeJesus administered the oaths of office. The Board adopted a schedule of meetings for 2026 (third Wednesday of each month, except Nov. 4 and Jan. 20, 2027 reorganization), with meetings to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Elk Township Municipal Court Room at 680 Whig Lane, Monroeville.
By resolution the Board designated The Sentinel and South Jersey Times as the Board’s official newspapers for 2026. The Board appointed Ann Marie Weitzel as Board Secretary (Resolution #2026-03) and adopted resolutions appointing the law firm Dasti & Staiger as Board Solicitor and Bach and Associates as both Professional Planner and Professional Engineer for 2026; the votes on those appointments were unanimous.
The Board adopted and memorialized Resolutions 2026-01 through 2026-06 by roll-call vote (For:10). The reorganization concluded with routine approval of the meeting schedule and appointments; the Board then moved to General Business.
