Union City Borough Council approved a retroactive appointment of Mark Zigler as Code Enforcement Officer on July 9 following a Personnel Committee recommendation.
The Personnel Committee interviewed Zigler and recommended him for the position; council approved a retroactive motion to appoint him (motion by Councilor Osborn, seconded by Councilor Joyce). Councilor Uber opposed the motion on the basis that Zigler should reside in the borough. The council carried the motion.
According to the meeting record, Zigler is available to begin training on July 12, 2024, including virtual training on the iWorqs software, and will not begin actual code enforcement duties until July 29, 2024.
