Polk County board approves elections hires, MnDOT easement, EDIAM reauthorization and pay-grid adjustments

Samuel Melbye, identified in the minutes as Deputy Clerk of the Board, presented several Property Records items. The Board authorized advertisement and hiring for an Elections and Forfeiture Specialist and four temporary election workers, with the motion by Commissioner Strandell seconded by Commissioner Reese adopted unanimously. The Board also authorized the Chair and Director of Property Records (as County Auditor) to sign a MnDOT temporary easement for parcel 82.00540.00 related to Highway 2 improvements.
The Board adopted Resolution 2026-29, reauthorizing Samuel Melbye to serve as Polk County’s Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) for the Education Identity and Access Management (EDIAM) program as recommended by the Minnesota Department of Education, PELSB and OHE. The resolution was offered by Commissioner Pape and seconded by Commissioner Strandell and adopted unanimously.
Administrator Chuck Whiting presented the 2025 market wage study from David Drown Associates (DDA). The Board approved the 2025 Market Analysis and proposed 2026 pay-grid adjustments effective July 1, 2026 (motion by Commissioner Ross Pape, seconded by Commissioner Warren Strandell), adopted unanimously.
