The Dean Board of Public Works voted to move forward a resolution asking staff to prepare plans and specifications and advertise bids for projects approved in the 2025 Capital Improvement Program.
Staff explained the resolution covers the projects the board approved in the latest CIP round and that staff compiled its annual map of project locations. Joe Piper moved to approve and recommend the resolution to counsel; Kevin Reilly seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Piper asked whether the Autumn Garden fountain included in the CIP is the nonoperating fountain near the office. Staff confirmed it is, noting recent emergency repairs in the area and saying the project will evaluate the fountain’s plumbing and nearby spigots. “It will all be evaluated to see what needs to be touched with that project that we have there,” staff said, adding the work will address other issues found in the area as part of the project.
The board approved forwarding the resolution; staff said more detailed project plans will follow as the design and bidding process advances.
