Polk County Social Services Board approves minutes, agenda and multiple warrants totaling six figures

The Polk County Social Services Board approved its April 21, 2026 minutes and the May 19 meeting agenda and unanimously voted to approve multiple cases, claims and warrant schedules during the May 19 meeting.

Board Member Rani Bhattacharyya moved to approve the April minutes and Commissioner Paul Reese seconded; Board Member Kathleen Twite moved to approve the meeting agenda, seconded by Commissioner Ross Pape. Commissioner Warren Strandell moved to approve the cases and claims, seconded by Chair Joan Lee; all motions passed by unanimous vote.

The minutes list an administrative payments total of $56,092.24 and other grouped totals including $1,983.55 and $92,836.11 across multiple warrant schedules. Specific vendor payments cited in the warrant listings included ENTERPRISE FM TRUST ($11,462.10), Verizon Wireless ($4,059.02), and various funeral homes and county human services transfers. Warrants were recorded as approved on May 19 for payment on May 22, 2026 (and some earlier-dated payments on May 8, 2026).

Director Karen Warmack also reported a status change for Alexis Enright, Social Worker CPS, effective Sept. 1, 2026, and reviewed current vacant positions within Polk County Social Services. The Director presented a month-end fund balance summary covering 2002 through April 30, 2026, as background for Board review; no formal budget vote was taken.
