OCPEH wins HUD technical assistance, schedules Sept. 11 town hall; budget finalized and street-outreach openings announced

OCPEH staff announced Aug. 18 that the CoC was approved for HUD technical assistance to review governing documents and coordinated entry, and scheduled a public Town Hall for Sept. 11, 2025, 2:30–4:00 p.m. at the Drakeford Library Complex to engage the community.
Danielle DeCaprio told the Leadership Team that the HUD TA began as a targeted review of governing documents but escalated to a broader project addressing governance structure and coordinated entry. The Town Hall will serve as a community kick-off for the technical-assistance process.
DeCaprio also reported that OCPEH’s expansion budget has been finalized and that all municipalities approved it. She said there are two openings for street outreach workers; staff are in talks with one candidate and expect to repost the position shortly.
Committee updates included plans for CE Planning task forces to regroup next month and potentially pause some work pending HUD TA outcomes. The Performance Review Committee had no update, and Executive Team members still need to schedule a meeting in November.
Other community notes: D. Carrington said the CEF is moving to a new location and expects to resume meetings Sept. 2; Evertt McElveen announced CASA’s grand opening of a transitional youth apartment complex on Wednesday. Jackie Jenks said she will provide a fuller IFC update at next month’s meeting.
OCPEH staff asked to defer Partnership data reporting to the next meeting; the Chair agreed. The Leadership Team adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
