The plan includes targeted RTI work, regular coaching and observations, and paying teachers $35 an hour for after‑school professional development sessions using existing PD funds. Administrators said they will schedule weekly meetings with teachers and provide lesson‑planning support, observation cycles and follow‑up coaching. They noted that schedule constraints (lack of common planning time) are a barrier and recommended after‑school paid sessions as a practical solution.
Board members and administrators also discussed a possible move of the state end‑of‑year test to May to allow more instruction before testing and faster turnaround of results for summer PD planning. The group expects to present a vetted flowchart of responsibilities and a timeline at the next board meeting.
