Trustees approve drainage payments, hold disputed trespass/tree-damage invoice pending counsel

Trustees approved a Mos Dam Construction invoice for $4,295.26 covering repair work on DD4 Main in Eagle Grove Township. A second invoice from a landowner for $1,471.50 alleging criminal trespass and tree damages was discussed at length; trustees agreed to hold that invoice until they receive guidance from drainage counsel Eric Edy and perform follow-up inspections in spring to verify tree mortality and damage.
Courtney Morridge provided updates on nine work orders across several districts (DD121-54, DD107, DD2, DD36, DD123) including mapped GPS locations, brush and weed-control photos from contracted spraying, and a reported 182 lineal feet of broken 14-inch clay tile to be recorded in district records. Trustees instructed staff to add project documentation to district files and to coordinate with landowners where private tiles must be daylighted into proposed wetland work.
What happens next: The Mos Dam invoice will be paid; the trespass damage claim will be held pending counsel recommendations and spring inspection results. Staff will record damaged tile footage and updated work orders in district records.
