The Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine budget, contract and grant actions at its June 3 meeting, including opioid-settlement grants, vendor and security contracts, an insurance renewal and recommended nonprofit awards.
Among the board’s actions, commissioners recorded amendments to prior payments (M-2026-151), ratified vouchers and payroll (M-2026-154), approved travel and personnel items, and authorized several contracts and grants. Key approvals included a $132,424 agreement with AES Advanced Electronic Security for courthouse security items, the PCoRP 2026–2027 insurance renewal totaling $1,265,927, and a professional services agreement for the District Attorney’s Office not to exceed $13,000 to be paid from the Drug Forfeiture Account.
The board also approved opioid-settlement grants from the county’s settlement funds: a Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement with AMZ Housing Solutions for $18,815.47 (women’s recovery housing startup), a second agreement with AMZ Housing Solutions for $50,000 (workforce reentry and recovery career initiative), a $25,000 agreement with Path to Peace for emergency housing assistance, and a $4,273.32 payment to Kudu Creative for LETI promotional items distributed at a parade.
Under information-technology approvals, the board ratified a $7,520 agreement with Tyler Technologies for server creation and migration and approved an amendment with Zito Business to provide primary internet services at $2,000 per month through 8/20/2030.
The board reviewed and recommended nonprofit grant awards (requested $15,000 each) and recommended awarding $10,000 each to Family Promise of the Poconos, Shepherd’s Maternity House, Pocono Area Transitional Housing, Safe Monroe, Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army East Stroudsburg.
Commissioner Laverdure noted that porta potties placed near Courthouse Square would be available for the farmers’ market and Thursday night concerts in the square.
