The Village of Duncan board voted Tuesday to adopt the 2025–26 budget and to approve the village’s 2025–26 property tax request during a brief meeting at Village Hall, 906 8th Street in Duncan, Neb.
The budget resolution, R25-299, was moved by board member Jerusha Ratcliffe and seconded by board member Gary Schlesinger; the roll call on that motion recorded ayes for Nick Wagoner, Jerusha Ratcliffe, Gary Schlesinger and Wynand Steyn and no nays, and the motion passed. The property tax request, R25-297, was moved by Schlesinger and seconded by Lance Denbo and passed on a 5–0 vote with Denbo, Wagoner, Ratcliffe, Schlesinger and Steyn recorded as voting aye.
The board opened the public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on a motion by board member Nick Wagoner, seconded by Wynand Steyn, and closed the hearing at 7:05 p.m. on a motion by Ratcliffe, seconded by Denbo; the minutes note Denbo’s arrival at 7:05 p.m. The meeting record states the meeting notice was published in the Columbus Telegram on Sept. 3, 2025 and that agendas are posted at the village clerk’s office, the post office, T-Bone 2 and on the village website.
Board member Gary Schlesinger moved to adjourn the meeting; the minutes record adjournment at 7:15 p.m. The minutes were recorded and submitted by village clerk Marianna Evans.
