The Budget Committee convened as the Josephine County Law Enforcement Service District governing body and approved Resolution No. 2026-018 appointing Arthur O'Hare as Budget Officer for the district and Resolution No. 2026-019 appointing members to the district budget committee.
Mr. O'Hare presented the district's proposed FY2026-27 budget, reporting total budget resources of $6,899,000, including estimated property tax revenues of $6,149,000 and interest earnings of $100,000. Budgeted requirements listed approximately $6,850,300 in contract services, $30,700 in administrative expenses, and $18,000 in contingency. The majority of expenditures are contractual payments to Josephine County for patrol, dispatch and evidence services provided through the Sheriff's Office.
The Budget Committee approved the district budget as presented by unanimous vote and set the property tax levy at $0.99 per $1,000 of assessed value for the district's FY2026-27 operations.
