4-H/Extension Service District budget approved; OSU to provide ~$381,000 in FY27 support

The Budget Committee convened as the governing body for the Josephine County 4-H/Extension Service District and approved Resolution No. 2026-020 appointing Arthur O'Hare as Budget Officer for the district and Resolution No. 2026-021 appointing members to the district budget committee.
Arthur O'Hare presented the districts proposed FY2026-27 budget and outlined that the district supports local 4-H youth development, agriculture, forestry and community education programs. Jamie Davis, Regional Director for Southern Oregon Extension Service, added that OSU would provide programmatic and faculty support to rebuild local programming.
The Budget Committee voted to approve the district budget as presented and set the district tax levy at $0.03 per $1,000 of assessed value for FY2026-27. The district's proposed General Fund total was $306,300 with a Building Reserve Fund request of $44,000, and OSU's anticipated personnel investment in the county for FY27 was listed at about $381,000.
The committee elected leadership for the district budget committee (Marc Kirby as Chair and Gary Richardson as Vice-Chair for the newly convened district board) and adjourned the district meeting at 3:36 p.m.
