Watertown Police announce promotions, hires and radio upgrade timeline

The chief said a lieutenant promotional exam is scheduled for June 23, and a tentative promotional ceremony for multiple promotions is planned for July 1. He also reported progress on the town's radio communications project: he has been told Motorola is producing fire-rated portable radios and Watertown is expected to be the first customer to receive them, with arrival possibly in July and the potential for full system migration after that.
Commissioners asked for follow-up communications once contracts and promotional dates are finalized and thanked outgoing personnel for service.
