During discussion a staff member explained the matter is a state-level license-transfer process handled by the Arkansas Alcohol Beverage Control Division under Arkansas Code Annotated 3-9-222: the state typically allows a 90-day period for paperwork while the applicant may begin operations, and the process constitutes a transfer of an existing license rather than issuance of a new one. The staff member said Miss Baker contacted the state and confirmed the transfer process is customary.
The staff clarified the business previously operated under a different name (referred to in committee as the Dardell Club) and that, once the state completes its review and paperwork, the license will be issued under the new name Tanil Steak and Seafood LLC. Committee discussion focused on explaining the administrative transfer process; no objections were raised in committee and the chair announced the item was forwarded to the full council by voice vote.
