Village of Eagle adopts One and Six-Year Street Improvement Plan totaling about $2.72 million

The Village Board of Trustees on Feb. 17 adopted Resolution 2026-04 approving the Village’s One and Six-Year Street Improvement Plan, a package of maintenance and reconstruction projects the village estimates will cost about $2,720,000 in total.
Chairperson Marcus Hochstein opened a public hearing at 7:01 p.m. on the plan. Meeting materials presented the village’s 2025 completed work — a mill-and-overlay on G Street from Wulf Drive to 3rd Street for $103,348 and miscellaneous maintenance totaling $44,124.30 — and the proposed 2026 one-year program. The one-year package includes general maintenance and four reconstruction projects (street improvements, sidewalk, curb, grading and storm sewer) covering approximately 1,700 feet of pavement reconstruction with an estimated cost of $2,065,000. The six-year portion (2026–2031) lists five remaining projects totaling roughly 6,700 feet of asphalt mill-and-overlay work estimated at $655,000.
There were no public comments during the hearing. Trustee Surman moved to introduce Resolution 2026-04 and Trustee Dan Meier seconded; the motion carried on a 4–0 vote. Village Clerk Nick Nystrom read the resolution, which states the village conducted the public hearing in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Public Roads Classification and Standards. Trustees then moved to adopt the resolution and voted 4–0 to approve it.
The adopted plan provides a schedule and cost estimates for maintenance and reconstruction through 2031; the resolution accepts the plan as presented at the hearing. The board did not specify funding sources or a phasing timeline beyond the estimates given at the meeting.
