The Enumclaw City Council adopted Resolution 1879, which updates several municipal fees affecting Parks operations, cemetery pricing, and the city’s school-impact fee formula.
Parks and Recreation Director Alina Hibbs presented two fee proposals: a new, lower-frequency swim-team option for the Aquatic Center intended to reduce cost for participants, and a suite of cemetery-price updates (infant lots, cremation garden lots, and revised pricing for available alcove mausoleum niches) to reflect operations and maintenance costs and reduced inventory. Hibbs told council staff recommends approval of the Parks proposals.
Finance/staff (Chris) explained the fee resolution contains an automatic CPI-based adjustment to the school-impact fee. "The fee resolution presented to you tonight represents a 3.1% adjusted school impact fee," he said, noting the adjustment follows the CPI formula previously approved by council and was implemented April 1 to align paperwork with permit billing.
A city staff member also told council that an email from the school district's director of business operations had expressed concern the city had not adopted the district's locally calculated school-impact fee; staff responded that the city will evaluate the district’s capital-facilities plan once approved by the school board and will return with any recommended deviations from the current policy.
Council moved, seconded and approved Resolution 1879. The resolution passed on voice vote; no roll-call tally of individual members was read into the record.
