The donations acknowledged included $1,500 from American Legion Post 121 to BPA nationals; $415 from Trinity Lutheran Church to the middle‑school student fund to offset field‑trip fees; a Box Tops contribution of $9.90; a PTO gift (~$8,670) for fifth‑grade field trip reservations; $50 from Roger and Elvina Nelson to the middle‑school student fund; a metal donation from Hexel Machine Incorporated for the agriculture/welding program; and $1,500 from the mayor baseball club to BPA. The board approved acceptance of the donations by voice vote.
The board also recognized Bill McDonald for 19 years of service as a physical education and health teacher and as the varsity wrestling coach; presenters thanked him for his years of service and noted he will continue coaching.
Separately, Mr. Samansky reported an $85,000 donation from the Royal Boosters to the activities department. Administration also announced Royal Champion Education Award recipients: Pat Hill (non‑district employee), the Watertown Lions Club (community business/organization), and two Royal Pride Award winners for school personnel, Dustin Stzman and Heather Huan; the district plans formal recognition events and staff presentations in coming weeks.
Mr. O'Neal moved to accept the donations; Mr. Burns seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
