Franklin County Commissioners on Monday approved a three-month contract with staffing firm Motivations to supply four temporary telecommunicators for the county 911 center.
Carey introduced John Theurer Rector, who said fiscal review increased the contract amount to about $163,000 to cover additional logistics. Rector told commissioners the contract would provide four people for the center for up to 50 hours per week to relieve a staffing shortage caused by recent departures while recruiting and training continue.
Commissioners moved and seconded the contract approval and voted unanimously. A board member thanked the 911 staff for their work and said the temporary staffing should improve telecommunicators’ quality of life while the county rebuilds its roster.
The contract was presented as a short-term operational relief measure; no long-term staffing changes or permanent hires were reported during the session. The board approved the motion to proceed with the contract.
