Board accepts Ed Foundation grants and superintendent announces two assistant superintendents

The Rockville Centre Board of Education accepted a spring gift from the Rockville Centre Education Foundation and acknowledged the combined fall and spring grant cycle total the district reported as $49,336.
During the superintendent’s report, Mr. Gavin announced that Kevin J. Richmond will join the district as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and William Herman will join as assistant superintendent for finance and operations, both beginning in July. Gavin said both bring experience in instructional leadership and school finance and that formal introductions to the public will be scheduled at the July meeting.
The superintendent also recognized Patrick McGuire for receiving the Section 8 and NYSA Liam Frawley Emerging Athletic Administrator of the Year award and thanked board member Janet for three years of service to the board.
The board approved acceptance of the gift by voice vote and took later procedural votes to approve agenda items G2 through J19 and to adjourn.
