At its June meeting the Gardner City Council approved several ordinance and financing items by motion and roll-call votes.
- Ordinance 2880: Council reinstated updated fireworks permit fees ($1,500) and sales hours (7 a.m. to 11 p.m., June 28–July 4) after staff said the changes were inadvertently omitted when the Uniform Public Offense Code was incorporated into the municipal code. The ordinance passed on roll-call vote.
- Ordinance 2881: Council adopted an ordinance levying roughly $1.005 million in special assessments for off-site sewer improvements in the Lonear Prairie Special Benefit District; assessments are assigned 100% to the benefit district (20-year assessment period) and 0% to the city at large.
- Resolution 2194: Council authorized preparations for the public sale of approximately $5.095 million in taxable GO bonds (Series 2026A), $1.005 million in tax-exempt GO bonds (Series 2026B) and approximately $940,000 in temporary notes (Series 2026C) to reimburse and finance identified capital needs.
Council also approved consent-agenda items (including retail market analysis recruitment services) and passed planning-and-zoning consent items. Votes were recorded in the meeting minutes and ordinances and the bond resolution will proceed to the specified sale preparations in staff's implementation plan.
