Staff said moving landscaping into Lakewood’s contract allows more efficient management of final completion tasks and coordination with subcontractors during the project's final month. The change order includes an 8% construction management fee and increases Lakewood’s amended total contract to $2,254,186. Staff noted the expense is covered by previously approved Scope Additions and remaining contingencies and that no increase to the overall approved project budget of $2,750,000 is anticipated. The Board approved the change order on a motion by Commissioner Cooney, seconded by Commissioner Query; the motion carried unanimously.
Staff said allocating landscaping work to the general contractor reduces scheduling and coordination risks for final site-completion activities.
