Rudy Guliani, who identified himself as having a background in public history and collections management, proposed that the Heritage Farm Commission create a mobile display case and rotating storyboards focused on Bolton history. He suggested exhibit themes including regiment demographics, sleeping and camping difficulties, troop–resident interactions and historic letters, and recommended keeping text brief to engage visitors with a two-minute hook.
Guliani told the commission the physical case available is roughly 30 inches wide and 20 inches deep and that the library has requested multiple storyboards for periodic rotation. He said the collection contains about 40 artifacts and the current plan is to display 12–15 items, citing examples such as a coin, regiment buttons, wagon pieces and a musket ball. He proposed an August 3 target date for full completion, with artifact-selection recommendations to be presented on April 2 and the bulk of research presented at the May meeting.
Commission members discussed narrowing the exhibit focus to Bolton-specific history, adding pictures and models to draw attention, and forming community partnerships and events to boost engagement. Town administration constraints were noted: the display must be mobile and avoid text overload to suit short visitor attention spans.
Next steps set by the commission include Guliani returning with recommended artifact selections at the April 2 meeting and a research presentation in May. The commission did not take a formal vote on the exhibit concept during this meeting.
