Bradford Select Board approves $41,000 two-year mowing contract, passes AP warrant

The Town of Bradford Select Board met Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, and approved routine fiscal items including Accounts Payable Warrant #77 and a two-year mowing contract priced at $41,000.
Chair Edward Nevells recorded the approval of Accounts Payable Warrant #77 after a motion and second; the board voted 3-0 to approve the warrant. During open session the board addressed the town’s mowing contract. Gavin was named in discussion of the bid, which the board approved for two years with the contract price listed as $41,000 and an added first month plus cleanup. Select board member Carlene Oakes moved to approve the two-year contract; Edward Nevells seconded and the vote was 3-0.
The board also conducted executive-session procedural votes under the Maine statute cited on the agenda. At 7:50 p.m. the board moved into executive session under 1 M.R.S.A. §405(6)(A) to discuss town manager concerns related to older tax assessments; the motion to enter was approved 3-0. The session ended at 8:07 p.m. by motion and the board adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
No public comment or debate opposing the mowing contract was recorded in the minutes. Payroll Warrant #76 was tabled for later consideration.
