At the meeting the council approved several routine but actionable items: a construction base services amendment for $566,000 and authorization for the mayor to sign; permission to use state bid contracts to replace municipal vehicles including a flatbed and a service truck; special designated liquor permits for nonprofit events in August and September 2024; and payment of an affiliated claim from Hugen Plumbing & Heating.
Council also approved a $1,637.24 change order to Christon Construction Company for the West Point Aquatic Center to replace an underperforming autofill unit with an upgraded system. Mark explained the change was for an upgraded unit required to meet capacity needs; the contractor scaled the prior unit value and the city is paying the difference.
Motions were made and approved for each item; staff were directed to complete contract documents and proceed with procurement or payments as authorized.
