Resident seeks council blessing for Pedal Pub mobile bar; council raises safety and noise questions

Ben Uzel addressed the council to describe his Pedal Pub business — a 10‑seat pedal vehicle with a central bar and a small bench — and asked the council to be aware of his operation and offer any local guidance. He identified himself as a lifelong resident of Norfork, said he holds a statewide liquor license, and said he typically operates as a BYOB setup rather than serving alcohol directly.

Uzel described safety and operational practices: he said he follows city ordinances, cards customers for age, uses wristbands to visually indicate who may be consuming alcohol, requires parental consent and a signed waiver for minors, and keeps operating speeds low (about 3–4 mph). He said he prefers to confine operations to downtown streets and avoids highways.

Council members asked about potential noise, hours of operation, traffic conflicts, and whether the Pedal Pub has operated in other towns; speakers suggested limiting operations to non‑peak hours and coordinating with law enforcement and downtown businesses. Several council members thanked Uzel for his transparency and encouraged him to work with local organizers and police to address safety concerns. No formal license or ordinance change was decided at the meeting.
