The Wheeler Central Board of Education on Sept. 8 approved a resolution to issue Limited Tax Obligation Bonds, Series 2025, in a principal amount not to exceed $2,000,000 to address potential environmental hazards, accessibility barriers, life-safety code violations and mold in district school buildings. Zach Wright moved to approve the resolution and Sydney McKay seconded; Dennis Derner recorded the lone no vote while the other board members voted aye and the motion carried.
The board also voted to approve a Strategic Planning Proposal with NASB for $8,100, a measure moved by Andrew Smith and seconded by Sydney McKay that passed on roll call with all members voting aye. Separately, the board authorized the Transportation subcommittee to approve bus purchases up to $90,000, a motion from Drew Kasselder that was seconded by Sydney McKay and approved unanimously. The consent agenda — reordered to consider Items VI.A. and VI.C. first by motion of Drew Kasselder — was approved at the start of the meeting.
