The Oak Brook Park District Board unanimously approved Ordinance 25‑0519 at its May 19 meeting, allowing staff to transfer anticipated unexpended funds among appropriation line items. Chief Financial Officer Marco Salinas told the board the contingency funds support annual budget reallocations and can cover emergency costs such as elevator repairs.
The board also voted to renew the intergovernmental agreement with the Board of Education of Butler School District #53 for a cooperative preschool program at the Oak Brook Park District Recreation Center for school years 2025–2026 through 2027–2028. Commissioner Tina Chan asked to see the cost breakdown for teachers and the contract terms prior to implementation.
Separately, the board tabled Section 4 of the Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual, Part I, to allow further review and to ensure new Commissioner Chan had an opportunity for additional questions. The ordinance and the IGA renewal passed by roll-call votes recorded in the minutes as unanimous; the tabling motion for the policy manual also passed by roll call.
