Jeremy Sebeci, representing the parks department, told commissioners the proposed grant would fund environmental site assessment items including wetland delineation, water‑quality testing, endangered‑species review and limited site cleanup. He estimated the initial scope at about $90,000, with a $70,000 grant request and $20,000 county match.
Commissioners read the resolution by title and approved it by voice vote. Sebeci clarified the work authorized by the resolution is preconstruction and intended to prepare the site for potential future construction, not to open the park immediately.
Next steps: the parks department will submit the RBDG application with the county as signatory; if funded, the county would provide the locally required match and proceed with the environmental and preconstruction work listed in the application.
