Residents urge county engagement on Teller Ranch access; raise noise, privacy and data-center concerns

During non‑agenda public comment at the June 16 meeting, residents raised several local concerns.
Alex Nichiari said Boulder County Open Space has recently closed trails at Teller Ranch (1–2 miles west of Nederland) and requested the town reach out to county staff for a public discussion about reopening access and sharing data supporting the closures. "I would encourage the board of trustees to work with Boulder County Open Space to have some sort of town hall or open discussion platform," Nichiari said.
Teresa Robertson, a resident of East First Street for 27 years, urged the board to consider updating Nederland’s noise ordinance to better address louder outdoor events and noted private surveillance cameras on nearby properties raise privacy questions. She also asked trustees to consider ordinance language limiting or guiding data-center proposals.
Trustees acknowledged the comments and asked staff to consider the issues (coordinate with Boulder County Open Space, review the noise ordinance and privacy concerns) and return with potential next steps.
