Wisner council approves May consent agenda, authorizes three sets of payables

The motion to approve the agenda, minutes from April 20 and the accounts payable for the Wisner Care Center, the City of Wisner, and the City/Rural Fire Board was moved by Councilman Andrew Schweers and seconded by Councilman Barry Meyer. The roll call vote was recorded as Ayes: Meyer, Schweers, Gobar; Nay: none; Absent: Parker. The motion carried.
The consent action included Care Center payables totaling $218,385.60 and April payroll for the care center of $39,652.63 (grand total $218,385.60 as presented); city payables totaling $398,704.30 with city payroll of $61,581.67 (grand total $398,704.30 as presented); and City/Rural Fire Board payables totaling $13,148.06. The council directed that those warrants be drawn for payment and that an itemized account be kept on file at the Wisner Care Center and the Wisner City Office for public inspection.
City Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie James confirmed the documentation and the meeting minutes note that signed acknowledgements of receipt and approval are attached to the minutes. The council did not debate or amend the individual claims during the meeting.
The council set its next regular session for Monday, May 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
