Wisner City Council approves more than $1.3 million in payables and payroll

The Wisner City Council approved its consent agenda on Feb. 2, 2026, authorizing payment of care center, city and City/Rural Fire Board bills and recording January payroll totals.
On a motion by Councilman Barry Meyer, seconded by LJ Parker, the council approved care-center payables totaling $231,314.66 (grand total including payroll $231,314.66), City payables totaling $1,114,327.96 (grand total including payroll $1,114,327.96), and City/Rural Fire Board payables totaling $989,868.39; roll call recorded Meyer, Parker and Councilwoman Cathy Gobar as voting aye and Andrew Schweers absent. The motion carried.
The council directed that warrants be drawn for payment and that itemized accounts be kept on file for public inspection at the Wisner Care Center and the Wisner City Office, per routine procedure. The consent agenda also included approval of the minutes of the Jan. 20, 2026 regular meeting and a Special Designated License for Bru's Package & Lounge for a livestock show fundraiser on Feb. 13, 2026, at the Wisner City Auditorium.
The detailed line-item payables and payroll figures are attached to the minutes and recorded in the meeting packet. The council kept its record of advance notice and posting consistent with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act.
