At the Jan. 20 meeting the Yutan City Council confirmed three personnel-related items.
Councilmember Kyle Schimenti was nominated and approved as City Council President; the motion was made by Councilmember Lawton and seconded by Councilmember Smith and passed unanimously.
The council corrected the December 16 appointment of Cody Cardin and approved his appointment to the Street Maintenance Department and Sewer Department; the motion was made by Schimenti and seconded by Lawton and passed unanimously.
The council also appointed Jon Chittenden as the alternate to the Planning Commission on a motion by Smith, seconded by Lawton; the vote was unanimous.
Why it matters: These appointments set council leadership and fill operational roles for public works and planning functions. The correction to Cody Cardin’s appointment clarifies departmental assignment recorded in previous minutes.
Next steps: Newly appointed officials will assume their duties as recorded in city staffing procedures.
