Commissioners approve grants, leases, hires and routine county business in May 19 meeting

At their May 19 meeting, the Sullivan County Commissioners approved a FFY2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant ($37,464), a lease addendum with Breeze Mental Health, a Health Services Coordination Agreement, the hiring of a Conservation Resource Technician, multiple travel requests, and payment of $325,956.97 in invoices.
The Sullivan County Commissioners unanimously approved a slate of administrative, contractual and personnel items during their May 19 meeting.
The board approved an agreement with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency for the FFY2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of $37,464.00. Commissioners also approved an addendum to a lease giving Breeze Mental Health the first right of refusal to rent 272 square feet at the Sullivan County Medical Center at $300 per month (with annual increases capped at 5%), and they approved a Health Services Coordination Agreement between Sullivan County (Children & Youth Agency) and Health Partners Plans, Inc.
On personnel matters, commissioners approved hiring Rebecca Watts as Conservation Resource Technician effective May 26, 2026 (full-time with benefits after a 60-day probationary period) and accepted the resignation of Ginger Fowler, Certified Assistant II – Human Services, effective May 11, 2026. The board also approved multiple travel and training requests and their county costs: Veterans Affairs ($1,240.90), Children & Youth ($712.06), Treasurer ($993.00) and Elections Director ($186.60); Commissioner Hoffman noted training is required to maintain Veterans Service Officer certification.
Treasurer Katrina Wilkins presented the April 2026 Treasurer’s report and commissioners approved payment of current invoices totaling $325,956.97. With no additional business, the board adjourned at 10:34 a.m.
