Resident Kathy Gregg asked the Village of Nehawka Board of Trustees on Jan. 8 what the village wants done to clean up the property at 704 Elm Street. The board did not set firm deadlines during the meeting but the Village Attorney agreed to draft a proposal that will list the required cleanup steps and a settlement timeline for the property.
In related public comment, resident Ben Heneger asked what permits or steps are necessary to put a rock driveway on the east side of his house; trustees did not provide an immediate ruling and discussion of permits was left for staff follow-up.
The cleanup-proposal draft from the Village Attorney will return to trustees for review when it is complete. No enforcement action or timetable was finalized during the Jan. 8 meeting.
