Nehawka maintenance and rescue updates: pump needs replacement, ambulance repaired under warranty

Maintenance supervisor Ryan Adams told the Village of Nehawka Board of Trustees on Jan. 8 that he has signed up for water classes, removed a rotten telephone pole in front of the community building and replaced a curb stop at 504 North St. Adams said the water header was flushed and that the pump at 1805 Conestoga Rd needs replacement.
Trustees were told Nehawka Rescue had three calls and that ambulance repairs for rear-scene lights and missing taillights were completed under warranty by Stryker the day before the meeting, so the ambulance was not taken out of service.
Pictures have been taken and sent for guardrail repair or installation quotes. Trustees asked staff to present pricing at the February meeting for the guardrail work, including Oak Street between Washington and North and the Oak/Washington intersection.
The board did not take immediate action on pump replacement or guardrail work during the meeting; trustees requested written quotes and will revisit the items in February.
