Larsen Design Group opened sealed bids for the Sonestown Sewer Improvement Project – Phase II at the Sullivan County Commissioners’ meeting on May 19. Nathan Jones of Larsen read the Linde Corporation proposal and reported a grand total of $346,148.00, which included mobilization, CCTV inspection and reporting, multiple cleanout installations, restoration work and contingency items.
Line items in the bid included a $48,000 allowance for mobilization and project management, $117,000 for pre-flush and CCTV of sewer mains, and various cleanout-installation and restoration allowances. Contingency-rate items listed—such as heavy cleaning/root cutting and bypass pumping—were priced separately and noted by Jones as possibly unnecessary depending on the final scope.
Jones said Larsen Design Group will check references and evaluate the bid for completeness before making a formal recommendation to the county. The bid opening is a procurement step; the commissioners did not award the contract at the May 19 meeting.
