Nehawka reviews 1- and 6-year street plan; maintenance to replace tower pipes Oct. 15
Summary
JEO Consulting presented an updated 1- and 6-year street plan which the board revised and asked JEO to forward. Maintenance reported a scheduled replacement of two water tower pipes, removal of about 5 gallons of hot-water heater sludge, donated materials for bus stop work, and a good sewer camera report for one sewer section.
Scott Hrabik of JEO Consulting introduced himself at the Oct. 9 Nehawka trustees meeting and reviewed a proposed 1- and 6-year street plan. Trustees discussed updates to the plan and directed JEO to forward the revised document to the board for further review.
Maintenance Supervisor Ryan Adams reported multiple operational items: a new faucet was installed in the community building women's restroom; approximately 5 gallons of sludge were removed from the community building hot water heater with a plan to flush again in a couple of weeks; donated 2x4s and plywood from John Henderson and a donated door from Adams will be used for partition work on the bus stop/storage building; and two lion sculptures have been placed in the park. Adams also noted that Kerns is scheduled to replace two pipes at the water tower on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Johnson Service completed jetting and a camera inspection of the third section of the sewer system and reported a "good" result for that segment. The board asked the clerk to send a thank-you note to John Henderson for his donations.
What happens next: JEO will forward the updated street plan to the board for subsequent review and any additional action; pipe replacement work is scheduled for Oct. 15.
