The Village of Nehawka Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. 2024-2 on Oct. 23, 2024, approving the village’s One- and Six-Year Road and Street Plan and completing the annual municipal certification required by State of Nebraska statutes. Acting Clerk/Treasurer Pat Neu read the resolution; the board waived the three readings (motion by Chad Krueger, second by Chairman Tim Dineen) and then adopted the resolution (motion by Dineen, second by Krueger). The votes on the waiver and on adoption were recorded as yes from Matt Anson, Pat Neu, Tim Dineen and Chad Krueger; Board Member Ian Begemann was absent.
The action fulfills an annual certification requirement to the Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classification and Standards, a step the village must take to document compliance with state statutes governing municipal road and street program certification. Separately, the board adopted the municipal annual certification of program compliance by motion (mover: Krueger; second: Dineen) with the same 4–0 vote.
The public hearing on the proposed plan was opened and notice locations and publication dates were announced; no members of the public offered comment during the hearing. The Village posted the hearing notice in The Voice News on Oct. 17, 2024, and on Oct. 10, 2024 at the Nehawka Community Building, the U.S. Post Office, and First State Bank.
By adopting Resolution No. 2024-2 and the related certification, the board completed the formal local steps to submit the plan and certification to the state board. The minutes record no further substantive debate; the meeting then proceeded to other business and adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
