At the May 27 special session, Town Manager Miranda Fisher and Special Initiatives Manager Cliff Bryson presented a comprehensive report on Town‑owned parcels and vacant buildings and asked the Council whether staff should explore selling any assets.
After discussion, the Council directed staff to pursue the sale of two properties: the BRIC building on Main Street and a Town-owned home in the Verde Lakes neighborhood. Councilors asked staff to return later in the fall with appraisals for the selected properties. Finance Director Michael Showers and staff answered follow-up questions about next steps.
The directive was recorded as Council direction rather than a formal sale authorization; final sale decisions will return to the Council after appraisal and any required procedural steps.
