Mayor Marie Moore opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers. Councilor Jessie Murdock moved to adopt Ordinance 2026‑A513; Councilor Robert Foreman seconded, and a roll-call vote carried 5‑0 with two members absent. The ordinance amends Chapter 8 of the Town Tax Code to increase the lodging tax as described.
Council members asked staff clarifying questions about implementation and how restricted funds would be used for tourism; Finance Director Showers and Town Manager Fisher provided the technical overview and said staff would follow established budgeting procedures for restricted funds.
