Siloam Springs board approves $91,906 truck purchase; staff reports major maintenance and capital items

The Siloam Springs Board of Directors approved the purchase of a 2026 Ford F-450 dump body truck for the Street Division on March 17, using a Sourcewell cooperative procurement contract.
Public Works Director Josh Napier told the board the truck was budgeted in the 2026 capital outlay for $95,000 and that the low purchase price is $91,906. “The street division has a need to add an additional dump body truck,” Napier said, adding the trucks allow non-CDL staff to operate and are better for tight work areas.
The motion to purchase passed by roll call vote; the board recorded unanimous support during the meeting.
Administrator Christina also reported purchases exceeding $30,000 since the last meeting: about $57,000 for wastewater chemical tank repairs and approximately $43,895 per police vehicle replacement for six vehicles. She told the board the family aquatic center parking lot is being rebuilt with an estimated completion by May 1 and Oak Crest Road is scheduled as the next city–county partnership repavement project. The transfer station is offering free mulch through the end of March, and spring cleanup is scheduled April 13–16.
No public comment opposed the truck purchase at the meeting.
