City manager lists events, thanks staff and announces inspector resignation

Mrs. Moore told the council and attendees about several upcoming events: a unified tour on Dec. 12 (meet at UniFi at 2:50 p.m.), the Citizens for Economic Development Christmas banquet on Dec. 12, a council retreat Feb. 20–21 at the Carriage House, the North Carolina League town and state dinner on Feb. 25 in downtown Raleigh, and the City Vision conference Apr. 29–May 1 in Greenville.
She thanked city staff for decorating downtown Reidsville and named several staff and contractors who helped, including Robin Yach, Chris Phillips, Le Bas Singer, Drew Bigalow, Josh Beck, Montana Brown and Emerald Stone.
Mrs. Moore announced that the city’s lead building inspector, Neil McKenny, had resigned; the transcript records the effective date as "the 30th." She said Rockingham County has agreed to assist with building inspections until the city can hire a lead building inspector. She reminded residents that leaf-collection season began Nov. 4 and runs through Jan. 10.
