Commissioners outlined exhibit elements including a children'friendly area with hands-on toys, gallery flow, and a small table with reference books. Tim will prepare scale drawings of the gallery wall space so the commission can finalize what will fit and what additional artifacts or cases are needed. Members also discussed merchandising opportunities (a museum store) and the prospect of including local authors' books in the exhibit.
The commission confirmed a separate, related event: a dedication at Howe Cemetery on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. to place a marker for three house boys who died during the defense of Boston. David Schaber of the Sons of the Revolution will lead the dedication and Bruce Bassett will deliver invocation and benediction; family members and color guard participation were noted.
Next steps: Tim will prepare a scaled layout and the commission will coordinate with museum staff to finalize signage and exhibit pieces for the scheduled commemorations.
