A staff member explained that the project is usually completed in-house under the resurfacing program but, because of limited staff capacity, the department seeks approval to use part of the resurfacing CIP to reimburse a consultant for construction inspection. "So this is one of the projects we felt would be good for a consultant to come in and help us with the construction inspection," the staff member said on the record.
Committee members asked about the schedule. Staff responded the work is slated to begin June 1 and run through the end of August; staff said they were coordinating closely with local stakeholders to clear the construction window. The committee moved, seconded and approved the professional services contract by voice vote. No further funding breakdowns or contract dollar amounts were provided on the record.
