Warren County commissioners approve EOC agreement, two resolutions, appointments, bids and auction awards

Warren County commissioners on June 17 approved a series of routine items and resolutions during a single meeting session.
The board approved a two‑year agreement (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2028) with the Warren‑Forest Economic Opportunities Council (EOC) to provide community services that include emergency solutions and housing assistance, Head Start, weatherization, energy assistance, supportive housing, preschool scholarships and other programs for eligible county residents. A commissioner moved the agreement and it carried on a voice vote.
The board also adopted Resolution 3329, a business integrity policy required as a condition of a Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant that provided $125,000 to purchase two sheriff's vehicles. County staff identified this grant condition in presenting the resolution, which was moved, seconded and approved.
Resolution 3330, described by staff as a local survey policy required for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), was adopted after staff said the policy formalizes existing practices necessary for federal paperwork.
Appointments to the Transit Authority were approved by motion: Commissioner Clay Camp, Wendy Wilcox and Kelly Nearing were reappointed to the authority's board.
On asset and property items, the board accepted a tax repository bid of $996.50 for a property in Youngsville Burrow, awarded the county auctioned vehicles (2018 Interceptor to Ultra Auto for $4,000; 2016 Dodge Caravan to Bobby Gearart for $8,300; 2019 Ford Escape to Automation One for $5,800), and approved a $965 quote from Sakula Sign Company for a new sign directing the public to the sheriff's office. Each action was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
These actions were presented as routine business on the agenda and carried without extended debate.
