At its regular meeting the Dennis Old Kings Highway Regional Historic District Commission approved a set of routine renovation and signage applications and recorded motions for ongoing items.
Key approvals - 35 Cypress Road: The commission approved Nemanja Zurkovic’s proposal to close off the front porch without changing the building footprint. Nemanja said the work is to create a mudroom and will not alter the existing footprint; no public objections were recorded.
- 225 New Boston Road: Tim of Tim Sherry Homes described replacing concrete front steps with wood, white PVC trim, white railings and slate-gray decking to match an existing side stair. The board approved the entry steps and landing.
- 12 William Crowell Road: Dawn Annalke Newman, representing Olga and Michael Block, requested two seasonal "Do not enter" signs to discourage people from entering a tidal pool on the property. The board approved the temporary seasonal signage.
- 198 Hillside Drive: Eric Mann of My Generation Energy Solar presented a proposal for 30 all-black roof-mounted panels, mostly on the rear of the house; the board found the array not visible from public ways and approved the application.
Procedural notes - The commission approved minutes from its Aug. 27 meeting. - The application for 43 Old Town Lane (34-panel solar) was continued to Oct. 8 for redesign and updated plans were requested by the 23rd.
These approvals are local land-use and design reviews; required building, electrical or conservation permits must still be filed where applicable.
