Levan council appoints Brady Taylor to vacant seat; Dan Green named to planning commission

The Levan Town Council on May 14 appointed Brady Taylor to a seat vacated by Christopher Chipping and immediately administered the oath of office.
Taylor received three affirmative votes; another applicant, Nicholas Mangelson, received one. After the vote the Clerk, Christine Carrigan, swore Taylor into office and he took his seat at the dais.
The vacancy drew five applicants who each made brief presentations: Dan Green, Mitchell Worwood, Triston Worwood, Nicholas Mangelson, and Brady Taylor. Mitchell Worwood described himself as "straightforward and direct," while Dan Green said he lacked municipal experience but could be useful on the Planning Commission. Following the council vote, members encouraged unsuccessful applicants to consider the open Planning Commission seat.
Separately, the council nominated and unanimously appointed Dan Green to the Planning Commission (motion by Ray Evans, seconded by Rachel Goates). Councilmembers said they valued having a range of applicants and suggested that interested residents apply for future vacancies.
The council noted the vacancy arose after Christopher Chipping announced his resignation at the end of April. No additional formal actions were taken related to the appointment during the meeting.
