South Jordan study session recessed into executive session on real property and adjourned
Summary
At the close of the Jan. 20 study session the council voted to recess into an executive closed session to discuss purchase, exchange or lease of real property; the motion carried and the meeting then adjourned to the closed session.
After completing study session business, Mayor Dawn Ramsey asked for a motion to recess the meeting into an executive (closed) session to discuss real property negotiations. A council member moved to recess and another seconded; the council voted "aye" and the room adjourned into closed session before leaving the public meeting.
The motion to recess cited the statutory authority for discussing the purchase, exchange or lease of real property in closed session. No substantive public discussion occurred after the motion; the council left for the executive session and the public study session record closed.
Next procedural step: any final action arising from the executive session that requires public action will be brought back to a regular meeting or published according to Utah law.
