Harrisburg School Board hires coaches and custodian after executive session

The Harrisburg School Board on June 4 approved three personnel hires following an executive session, voting unanimously to accept the superintendent’s recommendations.
Superintendent Julie Isbell recommended hiring Joseph Morse as the district’s Football/Track coach; the board approved the recommendation after a motion by Kurt Johns and a second from Jeremy Lally. The motion carried 4-0.
The board also approved the hire of Monica Moore as Golf coach. Jeremy Lally moved to uphold the superintendent’s recommendation, Kurt Johns seconded, and the motion carried 4-0.
Finally, the board approved adding Carla Mross as a 0.75 full-time-equivalent custodian assigned to Weiner Elementary. The motion to accept the superintendent’s recommendation was made by Kurt Johns, seconded by Jeremy Lally and carried 4-0.
Ryan Murphy, board president, called the special meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Executive session was held from 5:01 p.m. to 6:07 p.m.; the public record provided no details about the executive session’s subject matter. Present for the public proceedings were board members Jeremy Lally, Kurt Johns and Bridgett Hewitt; district staff present included Superintendent Julie Isbell and Jennifer Webb of the central office.
With no further business, the board adjourned at 6:09 p.m. after a motion by Kurt Johns, seconded by Jeremy Lally, which carried 4-0.
